What is Explorers?
Scouting for those aged 14-18.
Our programme aims to be fun, challenging activities that develop skills, confidence, leadership and character - by joining with friends to do new things.
Explorers can complete Platinum and Diamond Chief Scout's awards and the Queen's Scout Award, usually in parallel to the Bronze, Silver and Gold DofE awards.
Some of our activities run jointly with other local ESUs or senior guides.
You can see our programme by checking the diary on the right.
Subs are £30 per term - we use an online payment system - we will send an email requesting subs.
Subs covers our main costs which are capitation to the Scout Association (which is mainly insurance for activities), rental of the halls that we use, badges, materials and activities. Where we undertake significant activities off-site we may need to make an additional charge.
The cost of camps and other nights away, is an additional cost for those who take part.
The Pink Panthers ESU uniform is an Explorer Scout Shirt and the black and pink unit necker:-
Shirts (long sleeve explorer shirt) can be purchased from the Guide Shop, 16 Coates Crescent, Edinburgh (map).
Alternatively you can order from the Glasgow Scout Shop.
Neckers will be provided by the ESU - please let us have £5 to cover the cost.
Badges will be provided. Diagram of where to put them. The badge locations are generally the same as on their Scout shirts.
